Yeh but I don't live in Vietnam, Iraq or 1930's Germany either. I'm still interested.

Which is fair enough. I just find it funny that people are arguing over all this like they were the ones voting.

Boris Johnson is a bit of a joke but that's why I like him. It puts a bit of comedy back into politics which at the moment needs it.
Politics needs MOAR LULZ? Just watch your average House of Commons debate - a complete fucking joke.

Events in London do filter down...

I was hoping to move there in about two years, but who knows, he might be forced to resign by then

I love Screenwipe, love the guy who uploaded all the episodes too, caught up on ones I missed. Plus lovely lovely Matt Berry made the odd appearance on there. Niiiiice.

I would think the Mayor of London certainly does need charisma. Good leaders need charisma. You can have the most politically sound views in the world, but if you don't have charisma you won't get very far.

Che? Isn't it Labour who are getting embarassed at the moment?

I think Boris Johnson got in on the basis that he isn't Ken Livingstone, which is never a good thing in Politics. However, he did win, the people voted for him and fair play to him.

He'll probably arse it up though.

I think Johnson's going to surprise everyone by being a popular and effective administrator, and he'll certainly be less of a polarising, hysterical, paranoid, crooked and outdated leader than Red Ken. If he does the job well, he'll be the prime candidate to be PM after David Cameron.

how long did you live in London for Dave?
It's interesting to read all these comments about bad Ken / good Boris...
if it's congestion charges that are the main concern, I think people actually found it beneficial (except the rich people who still insist on using cars to drive 1 mile into the centre of London, instead of jumping on a bus (with "oiks, what what")).

I think it's a disaster to have a Beano character running one of the world’s most important city. I look forward with dread and anticipation as to what the fooook is going to happen over the next year (let alone 4). I just hope that it is the old adage that Civil servants are the ones with real power - not the monkeys we vote in.

If David Cameron becomes Prime Minister before Scotland gets independence, I'm shooting off. If BORIS JOHNSON becomes Prime Minister I'm shooting myself.

I can't believe I'm even discussing Boris Johnson as a PM candidate. Imagine Justin Lee Collins with a severe hatred for the Scottish starring in a film called 'Carry On Being Prime Minister', that's what it would be like.

Infact, imagine Benny Hill guest-starring in an episode of Love Thy Neighbour. He'd be running around Downing Street in a party hat groping secretaries and drinking Champagne. Think about the trips to Africa for God's sake..........

It could be far worse, they could be shutting down public amenities, firing teachers, closing disabled charities whilst raising coucillors wages, selling off buildings below worth and making love to a hive of consultants whilst sucking off a developer called stewart
