Aberdeen are set to get the same pishy curfew system that ruins nights out in Inverness. Personally I like being able to escape rubbish clubs friends drag me to and nip round to somewhere decent instead. This would prevent me being able to do that

unsuccessful...you mean they couldn't stop pished people leaving / entering venues? (or didn't want to because of the loss of revenue?).
I'd imagine that night clubs will be fairly pissed off with goons spending £10 to get into aclub for 10 mins, then move onto the next one paying money again...

Oh that fucking eats shit. They do this in Fraserburgh, in by 12.30 or you don't get in at all. Predictably there's a massive crush at the doors at 12.20, then by 2am when a lot of stragglers have gone home the club is almost completely empty but the bouncers still won't let people in. It's infuriating as fuck, they just close the doors at 12.30 even if the place is half empty, and half your mates are still queing trying to get in. Plus once you're in they won't let you out for a fag until closing time because the queue is still full of pissed off people arguing cos they didn't get in.

From a personal standpoint, it's fucking ridiculous when you consider the majority of The Moorings crowd will end up going on to Moshulu on a Friday or Saturday night, but the Moorings doesn't close till 1!

This is the stupidest fucking idea I have ever heard of. I could understand if there was a curfew of being in by 2 or something, but half 12? Utter pish.

I don't think it will work, although they say it's to stop people wandering around between clubs and getting in trouble, instead you're basically going to have every punter in town out on the streets between 12 and 12.30 trying to get into a club, which could potentially be a very volatile situation, especially when people start pushing and shoving trying to get in before the curfew.
