The best way to revolt against this is to cause havoc when the curfew comes into place. at 00.15 and 03.15 on the first night of the new rules smash as many windows and bash as many folks heads in as you can. Stab all bouncers that don't let you in to clubs after 00.30. They'll soon see their stupid idea only exacerbates social problems.

I actually think people will get drunker wolfing down their pre-club drinks and then staying in the same club swallying for 2.5 hours.

I don't like going to the clubs early as they tend to be absolutely no fun unless you're a bit tipsy and also I prefer to talk to my friends rather than condemn myself to screaming into their ears for the rest of the night. I can see myself not bothering and just leaving the pub at 1am if this comes into play.

Why can't we have nightclubs like we see in the old movies where everyone gets a table (with table service) and we can sit and chat with a bit of a big band going on in the corner.

Yup. looking at more options outside the traditional licenced sphere would be the best way of dealing with this but I'd bet that would give the trade, the public licencing bods, the council, police & our self-appointed moral guardians a dose of the screaming ab-dabs!

I'd like to know who (if anyone) the council consulted before they came to their conclusion that this was needed. It didn't work in Glasgow, what makes them think it would work here?

I see some councillor is suggesting clubs stop serving drink for the last hour to help folk sober up before they get turfed out.

Seemed like a sensible idea to me, but Mike Wilson, who owns Paramount etc, went radge in the P&J! Seemed a bit excessive.

I think the curfew is silly, but I like this "cool down" period idea, it could work much better.
