Default Disabled Access to Websites

BBC NEWS | Technology | 'Most websites' failing disabled

Quite appaling that the internet has advanced so much and yet it's inaccessible for disabled users.

I thought i'd bring this up as this was talked about at a recent lecture.

Shouldn't people who suffer from 'impaired vision' this use screen enlargers or have specialised monitors? That article's just a glorified way of saying most webshites have crap layouts.

Totally.

It's a shame because they don't have the l33t. But is it viable for us to provide a function that allows all walks of life to navigate the website when the most likely outcome is, they won't?

I don't have the l33t to make a page disabled-friendly. Heres hoping a solution is brought to the table however.
