Default Boopoll Of The Week (16)

Ho hum here are The Brits for another year... why did it seem like CD:UK only with no hope of anything cool coming on later? Maybe because Cat Deeley kept popping up 'in the audience' and we knew who the winners were gonna be? Maybe that's just me...

it made me think of a freshly split dead rabbit in the road with the head part totally flattened and at one with the tarmac

beady eyed crows on the fence looking amused waiting for a gap in the traffic

no

actually it wasnt that entertaining

Duran Duran just seemed a little off. Maybe cos it's not the 80s anymore or something. John Taylor though. Still would.
What volume of the world's supply of botox do you think Duran Duran have used up so far?
Boo's right though, was like CD:UK. At least Davina was nowhere to be found. I liked the stage set-up for the Darkness, especially the replica of the horse fountain at Versailles.
But I did have to question why it took 5 people to rap 'In Da Club' when 1 would have been plenty. It's rapper cronie syndrome. Have to fill the stage with all your mates.

I actually didn't watch it... the only TV I've been watching recently is Footballers Wives... which is one when we practise so I'll have to get mummy to tape it.

*looks at picture of Nick Rhodes and sighs*

Though I will admit that John Taylor seems to be doing the best as far as the looks battle against age goes.

You know what? Dido was in London last nite. It was so shite that even Dido didn't bother to turn up to get two more awards...

It wasn't the recipients that bothered me so much - it's bad every year - it's the format of the show. It had no continuity, the set was awful, the stage being in the middle was a poor idea - Cat Deeley seemed allergic to it... the whole thing was a mess. There was no flow, no central force; more a selection of adverts interspersed with a bunch of 'will this do?'... hell, even the big collaborations seemed like they were done with a shrug - Alicia Keys and Gwen Stefani looked uncomfortable and uncommitted, then Missy Elliott came on and really couldn't be arsed, rapped a bit of her last single and strutted back off stage to pick up her paycheque.

What I really object to is the whole non-event nature of the event. It's supposed to be a spectacle - whether you think it's a good or bad one one is irrelevant. It didn't even manage to be that.

i second that, i mean its supposed to be the highlight of the british music calender! it was one long bore, the only thing of any note was outkast's performance but they may as well have been on totp or CDUK

i didn't really get why they referred to outkast and beyonce as 'collaboration' when they weren't even on the stage at the same time.

I was at least excpecting a jazzed up mix of the two songs in the middle, but it just repeated "Beyonce" a few times and went straight into her song.
Gwen Stefani's sunglasses may have made the show worthwhile for me however.
