Default We like them stupid

Do you know what phrase provokes the bile to rise on Planet Boo? - "Too clever by half"... closely followed by "clever clever".

'Well Mrs Jones, your David has applied himself well this year and got good grade, but there is one thing that may hold him back... he's too clever, by exactly 50%'.

In the mid 90s when all that ridiculous Blur v Oasis business was going on, the main argument against the former seemed to be that they were too clever. After all, nobody likes a clever dick. Since when has showing some intelligence been a terrible thing? The public likes its stars stupid... perhaps to feel an affinity with them?

I always prefered Blur... I like the clever ones... I admire them and my eyes glaze with sheer joy when such people endulge me with their presence.

Clever people... mmmmmm

The thick ones are amusing, but I find it difficult to tolerate thick people (shame I can't escape myself, really).

Clever clever

But just how clever is it to sing about someones Country house. Surely this is acting to alienate the majority of blur fans situated in urban areas who have never really been to a big house in the country.

Thats not terribly smart.

I live in a large country abode... thats possibly why I like blue... it all makes sense now.

But they're not all about houses y'know... the universal is divine.

Yes indeed, parks and the like. I have to admit I was always partial to Oasis myself, more amusing, and less snobery, or rather snobery of a different and highly amusing kind.

However intelligent the Damen and pals are, it is not particularly reflected in their music.

woohooooo.

You take that back now!

I was in primary 6 when I got, "The great escape" it fills my robo-childhood with eternal joy.

Besides... since when was snobbery a bad thing?

snobbery isn't bad, but your everyday snobbery is so passé, the oasis we're too cool for school snobbery was atleast a breath of fresh air, even if it was not all that fresh.

Ah Oasis' first album was fantastic.. but then it all went a bit iffy...

The thug like behavior was needless.
