So what's he up to? I mean, John Lydon's not been 'punk' for a long time, he's too clever to cling to something like that. However, he's been a mischievious, malevolent, intelligent and decidedly non-mainstream presence who won't take any shit. What's he gonna do then? Who is he going to piss off? The general public by being rude, offensive and beligerent? That would be too easy. The vapid Z-listers he's out there with? That would be cruelty to animals, surely. My guess is he's out to piss off YOU Mr sad punka, by playing the game with one eyebrow archly raised and one finger up at you behind his back.

having never watched the show before last night, i have to say mr lydon is good value for money, generally fooling around and taking the piss in his own subtle way, who knows whether he can sustain this over the duration of the show.

nah me neither, but the appearance of lydon has made it essential viewing for me cos you know he's gonna fuck up the system in one way or another.

great moment when he walked into the pre jungle party, swaggering around pulling faces and generally not giving a shite. and he goes 'Im Johnny if your interested'. i think he can only go onwards and upwards from this point, thing is with johnny you just know he's ripping the piss out of the whole thing.

apparently there is a film of his life getting made soon, wonder who'll play him? and talk of a PIL reunion, though one would hope its the 1979 model with jah wobble as opposed to the 1989 american stadium rock model.

although i once knew an australian couple who used to work in a bar with him and they said he was actually a really sound bloke.
