A simple one this week. 2004 has started pretty darn well for one Glasgow band, bursting into the top 3 this week... so what do you really think of Franz Ferdinand?

I think Franz Ferdinand are ace!! But i wouldn't say they're the future of music cos i don't buy into that future bollocks.

But yeah, think they're lovely, not too pretty, but very clever. I adore the Take Me Out video, makes me drool a little bit.

Can't wait to see them on the 26th. Missed them here cos of a crap thing called work. Grrrr.

Yikes....I need to get Hue & Cry out of my head first, before I can make a rational statement....

...but compared to last weeks future of music* The Darkness they are beautiful!

they're shaping up to be this years new wave version of the darkness, adored by the media and hyped up to fuck. as a band they're not bad (there's a hell of a lot worse out there0 and its good to see a scottish band doing well but when i saw them at kef i thought they were pretty one dimensional in sound and it would seem a one trick pony but you know good luck to them.

i think lo cal orange juice is bang on the nail.

the thing is the kids of today - have probably never heard of orange juice.

i can remember tehm at the ritzy - edwin is still pure class.

even though a bitty porkier.

Yup, I agree about the Josef K thing - I just couldn't think of anything pithy and catchy regarding the name.

Personally, I think they're great, an intelligent, erudite, literary, arty band in the top 3. Bring back the brains I say, I've had enough of dumb is cool.

If anyone's near Stereo in Glasgow tonite btw they can possibly catch said band doing a secret gig. Shhh.
