2003 was the year of the graverobber. The Darkness exhumed the fetid virginal corpse of wankrock and duh a billion fucking dolts queued up to suck its clammy double-headed Chemistry Highers cock. Then there was the shite bits of the 80s revival, that was a lot of fun, culminating in Thatcher's lapdog leading the Tories like the Poll Tax never happened.
Anyhoo, what revivals can you see on the horizon for 2004?

Whats a pogs? I used to know a Pox who played Bass like Zappa on acid and I have a vauge recollection of a Pogs who was part of dub kitchen, but is now a 'normal person' so it can't be him. Or maybe it means progressive online girly songs? or personalised overvoltaged grimacing skunk? or Pernod over glazed spinefish?

Since the "word on the street" is that "rock is coming back" (I've heard so many people make this baseless assertion, I wonder who or what started that little meme?) I think 2004 will see a lot of heavily marketed toy bands masquerading as driving this so called rock revival. Manufactured pete-waterman style pop dying out? Don't bet on it. The industry is just going to hatch out a new beast to appeal to a new generation of punters.

Lionel? Didn't he dance on the ceiling... hells yeah.
I'm going with the 1950s, 1980's thing (wishful thinking on my part) I bought some reject 80's clothing recently... and I've seen some reject 50's stuff I may invest in (tis cheap... I lurv those sales). So hella yes. Best clothes in a scientific cross between 50's class and 80's tack. That's just a dream come true. |

no, you're wrong, they were called tazo's, and you could not gamble with tazo's, all you could do was stick them together to make stupid shaped objects that you can't do anything with.
pogs you bought in packets. you played games with pogs and you gambled them, and it's the only gambling activity i've ever taken part in. i'm proud to say that i almost collected the entire second series without ever buying a packet of pogs. they were banned from my school, which was pretty funny my second most vivid memory of primary school is one time when this boy david wilson was carrying his pogs in a blue plastic container - and he had shitloads of them - and he dropped the container and they scattered all over the place. Then someone shouted 'SCRAMBLEEEEE' and he lost almost all of his pogs and burst out in tears. He then went round all the class rooms asking if anyone had his pogs and he didn't get a single one back. |
