...As you may already know we love pretentious artwank on Planet Boo, standing firm and proud with those that believe 'L'Annee Derniere A Marienbad' is one of the greatest works of celluloid art ever, not one of the worst, as is tabled by those who detest poncey existential French films. Anyroad, I was thinking the other day about DVDs, having just got a player and nowt to play on it. I wondered if I could get Krzysztof Kieslowski's masterful 'Three Colours' trilogy together on DVD - does anybody know?
I remember sitting in an old ex porn cinema in Dalston, London, one sticky August afternoon in 1995 where myself and a courtesan watched all three back to back. It was one of the happiest afternoons of my life, not so much due to the company, whom two months later ripped my heart out of my chest and dragged it through the dirt from Lincoln to Glasgow -whole other story - but these wonderful works of cinematic genius. So, the Boopoll this week is about the great Polish director's masterpieces. Vote with your heart, my pretties.....

BTW if anyone is wondering what 'Daisies' is, <<<<<the pic to the left is a still from it.

Well I'm glad we're having such an informed debate about French cinema. Takes me back to my uni days, sat amongst a group of people with blank faces desperate for the lecture to veer towards the subject of 'Reservoir Dogs'.

Well, that's more like it... But which one was it? Was it quite slow and maudlin involved lots of swimming pools, or was it more a story of unrequited love? Actually, scrub that, WHAT COLOUR WAS IT? Y'see the thing about the films is in 'Red' everything is red, lots of red cars, big red advertising hoardings, blahdeblah... in 'Blue' there is lots of water and blue imagery. 'White' is far more comedic and involves a lot of snow and suchlike. I'm simplifying, obviously, but there you go.
I'd guess it was maybe 'Blue', as that is quite impenetrable and rather ponderous in tone....

...Is that twenty quid per colour? Sixty quid for the set? There's something that's screaming out for a box-set, surely. The trilogy should be viewed all together to get the full effect as they intertwine and you realise they are all going on at the same time with characters interacting between films.
...As for your prize - take in the piece of paper I sent and they will give you £5.50! Can't say fairer than that!
