After last night's mucho good practise at "Hit's of the 80's" and my new compulsion to write 80's sounding kiddy theme tunes on synths... I figured I'd ask.

What's your favourite hit from the 80's?

Lester dear, I don't think that was a hit...not in the UK anyway.

Gonna have to be booring and say 'Reel Around The Fountain' by The Smiths. A sublime song which also got some cool notoriety points at the time when The Sun came out and called for it to be banned 'cuz Morrissey was an evil Myra Hindley loving child molesting vegetarian poof. It's a hit in my head... but we all know I live in a fantasy land. It's far better in my opinion.

Can't get enough of that Nick Rhodes... he looked at me once, it's one of the high-lights of my life. I was in the same breathing space as him... oh it was devine!

reel around the fountain is probably my favourite smiths song, well one of them....

if someone was to ask me what my favourite smiths song was, i would probably say reel around the fountain

I have to admit, I do like the Smiths.... but nothing does it for me like synth pop action... Imagine the Smiths with synth pop driven through it... it would probably sound horrible actually

Does a song not have to be released as a single to be classed as a hit??? Hmm...shame, cos its class...

So i'd have to say "Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now" - cos it has that pools winner (Viv Nicholson??) on the cover looking a lot like Myra Hindley - which also gave it some cool notoriety points at the time when The Sun came out and called for it to be banned 'cuz Morrissey was an evil Myra Hindley loving child molesting vegetarian poof.( (c)2003 - Mr Boo - but its so well put i hate to plaigarise!).

And it had Suffer Little Children on the 12" b-side, a song actually about the moors murders which the Sun completely ignored!

Imagine the Smiths with synth pop driven through it...
