Default Reverend And The Makers

For shit's sake!

They remind me so much of The Younger Younger 28s, probably the most odious live band I have ever witnessed... in fact, maybe it is them! Back for revenge on a disinterested public... Hmmm....

Come on, tell me I'm wrong, tell me I'm missing some sort of greatness in their jowls.

The only fitting description I can think of is "Bag o' shite."

Saw them over the weekend a festival goodness, they weren't all that shit.

But they weren't all that amazing either.

They sound like really accomplished musos with really average songs to me and therefor = poop

plus they seem to write those obvious 'sound clever' lyrics which is not clever imo

give me something shit but interesting to listen to anyday

Exactement. Cliched kitchen-sink vignetttes with all the lyrical deftness and insight of a panel beater. A bunch of session musos watching Pulp and figuring it must be easy.

I'd rather stick an un-greased corn on the cob up my japs eye than listen to that pish.

I just found this song on my computer (not sure where from) "Heavyweight Champion of the World". There seems to be a lot of exactly this kind of generic music about on the radio. Can't comment on other songs that I've not heard but sounds like a lot of bits of other songs stuck together - also a lot like a very produced Arctic Monkeys style. That is a bit of a shame as I don't mind Artic Monkeys.

One good thing came out of listening to that song. I rediscovered an amazing anti George Bush/US government protest song I randomly downloaded last year by Norman Blake. Completely off topic but have a listen to it: Don't be afraid of the neo con Norman Blake - Free Music Downloads - MP3 Downloads - Download.com Music Happy accident
