Avril Lavigne rockets into the charts at number 3 with her new smash hit, 'Hey Mickey'. In the video she does that thing where she plays three different versions of herself, one blonde, one brunette, one redhead, kinda like an emo Christina Aguilera. But which one do you prefer? Come on, this is really important!

One thing I would say about this song, if you like it in english, track down the international single release - i got it last week, featuring the track recorded in english, spanish, french, german, italian, japanese, portuguese and... wait for it... mandarin.

it's pretty damn amazing:

I like her best as the 'nerdy' girlfriend, I prefer her in cardigans and brogues than her embarassing faux-goth look. The whole concept of the song worries me aswell, it essentially seems to be "I can see your girlfriend is a bit of a nerd, I'm pretty easy and I wear mini-skirts so you should leave her for me". Where's the morality in that?

It's almost as bad as Hard-Fi's

The classic love story really: Get a girl pregnant because you can't control yourself and then instead of facing up to it, leave town in the middle of the night and leave her to deal with it, going on to enjoy a fruitful career in Lad-Rock.

I noticed that too... I have noticed this trend - songs from singers that claim to be 'empowering women' that are basically 'I'm a bitch and a whore' type male wank fantasy songs. 'Don'tcha' by Pussycat Dolls springs to mind...

Exactly, there should be less "Don'tcha's" and more "Ugly's" by the Sugababes.

I love the video for Ugly aswell, but it always gives me a hollow feeling seeing Mutya and knowing she's no longer part of the Sugababes.
