Not being a perusor of tabloid tittle tattle I must say I find it quite alarming when I accidentally come across (in print, on TV or radio) a spike of vitriol directed at Heather Mills-McCartney, not because I object to random attacks on those in the pubic eye but because I have no way of knowing whether she deserves it. She never entered my consciousness other than the fact she's an ex model who lost a leg in a car accident and married Paul McCartney... I seem to have missed the part where she turns to camera, twirls her moustache and laughs evilly.
Seriously though, did I miss anything? Is there evidence that Ms Mills was nothing more than a scheming gold digger? As far as I remember she was a minor celebrity with something of a burgeoning career, someone who created a public profile for herself not by going on a reality TV show but campaigning for charities. I'm also pretty sure that all of this was not without financial reward. So am I being very naieve here, or is this more to do with saint Macca who can do no wrong?
Paul McCartney was a twat in The Beatles (witness the 'Let It Be' film to see some royal twattishness) and has been a twat ever since. So the rich pensioner married an attractive young woman... did he get nothing out of this arrangement? To be honest, to put up with his smug little face and irritating 'thumbs up' signs for more than ten minutes I reckon she deserves to be richly compensated.

I'm sure he isn't the squeaky clean individual that is made out but she should have just accepted the couple of million payout offered and walked away, instead she seems to be fighting to gain half his fortune and so makes it clear she just wants to be set for life off his career. At the end of the day he asked for it but after losing his wife he was probably a bit vulnerable and easily conned, happens all the time except most of the poor recipients aren't ex-Beatles....at the end of the day who really cares? It's NEWS though so until the court settlement I suppose we will have to put up with it....

With all that money, McCartney still couldn't attract a women with two legs, he must have been doing something wrong. Everyone knows he's a thumbs up giving Oh bla Di writing 5 star dickhead, so maybe that scares off the bipedaled ladies.

Paul McCartney was not a twat in the Beatles. It was Paul who kept the Beatles together and made sure that they did things perfectly and not just rush things. Paul was the life and soul of the Beatles and apart from some dodgy stuff between 77 and 91 has continued to prove he is a genius.

Dunno about you guys but I could quite happily live out my life on 'only' a couple of million pounds. She's a bit daft for going for more. Although in my opinion she's more at fault for not smothering the smug bastard in his sleep years ago. Ergh...McCartney :shudder:

Well occasionally he has also been a "For no one", "Fool on the hill", "All my loving", "Hey Jude", "Here there and everywhere", "Band on the run", "Junk", "Eleanor Rigby" (and I could continue this for quite a while!) - writing 5 stars to the square genius...

I am a Lennon-Man myself too and don't know Sir Paul well enough to make grand statements about his character, but comments like this one above are quite annoying...

if i was mister mccartney, i would just give her a huge settlement to stop this being dragged through the press, it's not like he's going to be left penniless.

he's still gonna have enough money to keep all his staff in employment, all his houses in gas, electricity and water, all his cars in tax and a bit left over for his just for men.

she's a cunt, and absolute cunt and deserves everything that she gets (except the money); however for his piece of mind and to save having the press drag EVERYTHING up, just pay her off.

that'll teach you, when you have your mid life crisis, don't go off and marry a model, even if she does only have one leg.
