Default Boopoll Of The Week (91)

Planet Boo recently went on Myspace - We're here if you're interested >>>http://www.myspace.com/nufi. Never bothered too much checking it out before, mainly because I'm extremely antisocial...
Anyway, it's a jolly old thing and we've made some new friends, discovered some new music. I have been hearing rumblings though from some folks slagging Myspace off, although the arguments against it seem to have all been shot through with web snobbery. Go on then, here's your forum, what's bad about Myspace? Is it now some big old corporate whore now and therefore not worth our time? Or are you a Myspace addict? Where do youse all see it going in future?
Personally, for me as somebody who used to go to six gigs a week but now get to six a year if I'm lucky it's great just now, it feels like the old fanzine network, just magnified expenentially.

i generally say its on my myspace (said faster) or just my space (which can be confused with msn spaces)

but i like it, its a pretty awesome tool for getting more contacts for gigs/bands etc

thats what i use it for

I love myspace (not yours). I think its great for getting your sound out there. Its free, fast-ish and can be customised easily.

It does seem to be getting dated though... Tom needs to do some radical thinking about how hes going to stop people wondering to the newer simlair typed space's which i will not name.

I think it's great for band, gig information, independent business and such like.

Unfortunately, its prime function seems to be used as a cringeworthy tool for teens to bore the world with information about themselves.

Saying that, even though I don't have a profile myself, I can sit for hours trawling through it in amazement.

I'll sign up to it when I get a band on the go. It is very useful for previewing tracks and getting information on a band, but a bands own website can do the same really. Other than that I don't see the point of signing up just to say "Oh I like your band", "Oh, I'm not sure about your band". It is definately overun by attention seekers, whose aim is to make their boring little lifes seem interesting in order to get a high place in the popularity content. That's what I despise. I don't care what you did today and who you went out with, because I don't even know who the fuck you are! Wow you can get really drunk, how cool are you?! etc etc

I find this pic summarises perfectly the people who use it for shameless self-promotion...

hehe and I will you too
I love it just for listening to music. So many bands, and just not enough time.
But, such is life

I love it for getting info out there about Obedience School, getting in contact with people in the fetish scene or people who could be easily persuaded into the fetish scene.
That said, when I'm bored at work or at 3am, I will fill out any survey bulletin I can find just to pass the time.
I've become totally addicted recently though, and check for new messages more times I day than I like to admit.
