I'm flying down to Bristol next week, then I have to take a train to Gloucester for a funeral. My best mate Lynn killed herself - had a row with her boyfriend and took an overdose. Dunno if she really meant to die or not - I suppose we'll never know now. She always said she wanted to be buried, have a gravestone and all that, so I could sit by it and she'd pop up in a white suit and we could solve crimes. Not so funny now - especially as she's being cremated.
I want to be buried underneath an apple tree. As I decompose and nourish the soil the tree will absorb my molecules and I'll become one with it, and eventually its fruit. Then I'd like people to come along and eat the apples, then go off and dance and sing and laugh and cry and fuck.

That's a tad utopian. You'll be buried in a horrible dingy plot with a decrepit gravestone, forgotten about, like the rest of us.

I don't think you got my point - I never said I wouldn't be forgotten. The physical act of death is not utopian, it's reality. What do you think the chair you are sitting in is made of, or the glass on the screen you are looking at ? We live in a world that is supposedly synthetic, but everything is made out of something, including the rotted carcasses and bones of our ancestors. Every molecule of our being when we die becomes something else - unless of course you believe in magic, and we just go poof and disappear?
By the way, my plot isn't dingy... oddly enough it's underneath a big old apple tree - who'd have thought it?!
