Default Boopoll Of The Week (42)

I'm in three minds about Goldie Lookin' Chain. Firstly, I feel I shouldn't slag off a client, especially one that have just signed a £250 000 publishing deal. They ordered a load of Zammo t-shirts from me, so they can't be all bad. One good thing about them is unlike The Darkness, they seem in no danger of ever taking themselves too seriously. They also seem like their shtick is motivated by a kernel of intelligence... In fact, thinking about it, it's not GLC I have the beef with, it's the press. NME are calling them the new messiahs, and the Broadsheets are salivating over them, their safe bit of rough. I actually read in The Independent last week that their lyrics deal with social issues in a way Eminem could only dream to. I snorted tea out of my nose all over the write-up.

i love them. The lyrics are genius sometimes, and has been said they dont take themselves too serious which for me adds to the novelty of them.

I find them quite funny, although I haven't heard their album - just some of their early tracks. I used to live in Newport (sorry, I mean "Portside") which makes them even funnier.

I spoke to one of them, Eggsy, about 18 months ago just as they were beginning to get some attention - he just couldn't stop laughing about it all. I bet he never thought it would turn out like this.

They're ace. "Guns don't kill people, rappers do, I'm a fuckin rapper and I might kill you" is a genius line. As is the whole of Eggsie's first verse in that song. And how can anyone NOT love Xain saying "Wappuhs" instead of rappers?

And I can now safely say that they are great fun live.

"If you try to knock me you'll get mocked Ill stir fry you in my wok your knees will start shaking and your fingers pop just like a pinch on the neck of mr spock..."

...if I want genius lines I'd stick with the BB personally.

I think they're shite, utter utter shite. Another excuse for the musical high-brows to tell me that i don't 'get it'

I've said it before, but they're Morris Minor And The Majors for the 21st century.
