Kurt Cobain was a talented person. "He did good" as a caveman would say. The problem comes when thousands of people worship him. Which causes thousands more to hate him, and cool vs uncoolascool starts all over again.

All that I can say for certain is that the guy was a man, and he wrote some good music.

Oh yes, and personally i don't get the people who bring up the Pixies, it's not as if this is a revelation, Cobain said it himself.

i think to defend cobain, his band became far bigger than he could ever have envisaged. he did suffer a lot of health problems when he was alive as well.

but marrying courtney love didn't really help things and there's no excuse for blowing your head off when you've a kid to support either

I guess this is why Courtney penned the song 'Doll Parts' - she's way ahead on you there...

Of course being incredibly shallow I've always fancied Courtney. I'm gonna get flamed for that aren't I?

It would also help if she could make up her mind what size she wants her tits to be. Hmmm plastic tits... OK I just went right off her. Plastic surgey - second only to HIV positive IMHO.

i preferred her mid 90's slut phase to the washed up junkie 2004 model.......

and 'live through this' and 'celebrity skin' remain essential albums in the franklin CD collection...

I was a fan of the Kim Gordon produced debut lp and "Live Through This" but after that it loses me and she wanders off into slag patrol land. As far as the Cobain thing, I used to be really into Nirvana when they first came out, but ever since he did his selfish sad bastard deed, I haven't really listened to them since. I give him his due because I got into alot of music because of articles in the NME where he would give shout outs to other bands and movements. Of course, because of Nirvana I discovered Sonic Youth and after that I left Nirvana behind and Sonic Youth opened up a whole new world to me. They got me into alot of really good music.

The new album is very strong, 'Mono' is easily the poorest track on it. 'Hold onto Me' and 'Sunset Strip' are the highlights IMHO.
