that would be absolutley amazing if he was. he wrote 2 of my favourite songs ever in "green fields of france" and "and the band played waltzing matilda" - unfortuntley i dont anything else by him

Irish band De Danann covered Eric Bogle's "All the fine young men" on their Ballroom album - apparently, it's the last anti-war song he was going to write (don't know if that's still the case, as I saw them on the promotional tour for Ballroom at least 15 years ago) - it's another cracking song.

I've heard a rumour that he's playing Aberdeen this year, but don't know any further details.

Wed 16th August
Doors 7pm
Onstage 8pm

wow, last.fm neighbours mentions onlynik and I think "I recognise that username" so I do a search, find my way back to aberdeen-music.com and discover Eric Bogle's playing the Lemon Tree. Excellent stuff.
