for those of us that haven't been to the one in edinburgh...
Rock club, yes? Anyone have examples of the sort of stuff they play. Mainstream or more unusual stuff?

doesn't look like a rock club.

apparently their bring two floors of early to late lounge clubbing whatever the fuck that is.

I guess it's the same chain as this place. Definitely a rock club. Don't think it'll be that similar to Moshulu, seems more of a bar/restaurant enviroment with a club on a different level, and I don't think it's going to be a live music venue. Looks kind of like an alternative Tiger, Tiger.

Surely Studio 24 is the Moshulu of Edinburgh? That's where all the "kids" go anyway. The past couple of times I've been to Opium it's been awful. Really quiet, with some of the worst DJ'ing I've ever heard. Literally one minute gaps of silence between songs.

The esko building's been empty for ages, it's about time they did something with it.

it's a different owner to the one in edinburgh so they won't be connected. i reckon dave has it right with his 'posing hipsters' comment.

Sorry, just pished myself laughing when I read this thread.

Yeah I heard there were going to be a whole fleet of alternative rock clubs opening... must be true since it's been forecast for the past 15 years.
