hey guys

Ive been doing an open mic in the union (schoolhill) for nearly 2 years now but its been getting really mixed response so convinced them to let me "DJ" (i use commas because Im merely playing records, no mixing as yet) instead.

Every tuesday night from 9pm upstairs in the Union till 1am. Ill play a pretty random mix of current and old stuff and even throw in the occasional local band or 5! Anyway, been doing it for few weeks now and its been going down well.Im pretty open so if you want to bring any c.d s down ill play them whether its your mates band or your latest favourite song.

If your not a student you can get signed in by another so all are welcome.

franz ferdinand, new order, mylo, lcd soundsystem, the rakes, bloc party, the beatles, radiohead, arcade fire, rolling stones, nwa, jurrasic 5, kinks, the little kicks, joy division, kasabian, strokes, yeah yeah yeahs, dj shadow, marlene shaw, wilco, the rapture, juan mclean, soulwax, rescue party, modest mouse, the killers, hard-fi, libertines, interpol, editors, love, doors, led zeppelin, the who, the stooges, rufus wainwright, bright eyes, johnny cash, bob dylan, devo, staccato set, the walkmen, unkle, neil young, clor, mogwai, the prodigy, foo fighters, smashing pumpkins, kitchen cynics, rage against the machine, echo and the bunnymen, gang of four, magic numbers, idlewild, velvet underground, british sea power, ladytron, fischerspooner, grandmaster flash, my morning jacket, mercury rev, flaming lips, we are scientists, television and a couple i forgot to write down!

its a bit of a free for all and just a bit of fun so head down and have a wee midweek boogie!

p.s - meant to say, if people turn up wanting to play open mic, it becomes an open mic between 10 and 11.30pm, the equipment is set up already at 10pm

I normally hate the Union, but this night could provide a post-Hogshead-pub-quiz venue. Good stuff
