Phil Bancroft Quartet
Thursday 2nd June Tickets £7.50 (£5 concessions & Regulars) Doors Open: 8.30pm Show Starts: 9.30pm Following on from the release of his brilliant new album, Headlong, in September 2004, Scottish saxophonist Phil Bancroft is now established as one of the leading players in European jazz. Bancroft has been a mainstay in many of the major Scottish bands of the past 15 years (including Celtic Feet, Trio AAB, Tom Bancroft Orchestra and The Unusual Suspects). His music reflects his life, rooted in the classic American jazz tradition, but encompassing influences from many sources, including celtic, Indian and western classical music. He expresses a unique voice through his tenor and soprano saxophones resulting in distinctive, evocative compositions.
