Due to unavoidable circumstances, LCD Soundsystem have been forced to reschedule their Triptych Aberdeen show, which was set to take place at the Lemon Tree on Saturday 30th April. Their other Triptych dates - at Edinburgh Venue on 29th April and Glasgow Tramway on 1st May - are unaffected.

The Aberdeen LCD Soundsystem performance, which has been postponed due to Record Company commitments, is now on course to take place later this summer. Triptych and Tennents Lager and The Lemon Tree regret any inconvenience or disappointment this may cause, but wish to reassure music fans in Aberdeen that the rearranged event will take place as soon as possible - and that all existing tickets will be valid for the new date. Alternatively, tickets can be refunded at point of purchase.

On a more positive note, Triptych is pleased to announce that Montreal micro-house boffin Akufen will now play Aberdeen Lemon Tree on Saturday 30th April, alongside buzz-funk pop insurgents Hot Chip, and the ever-notorious Optimo DJs.

This show will be free to LCD Soundsystem ticket holders.

Akufen -- who weaves an ample palette of shimmering cut-ups, glittering techno and sampling, pop-addled grubby funk -- is globally feted for his impish, intelligent electronica, while his recent Fabric 17 mix album heralded one of the finest moments in the eponymous London club's compilation series.

everyone who reads this should go for hotchip alone, especially for a measly £5.50. never heard akufen but thats just an added bonus. I know ill be there!!!

Akufen is excellent - if you like the sound of Aphex Twin or Squarepusher's most complex rhythms, but in a slightly housier style, that's pretty much his sound.

And yeah, Hot Chip and Optimo DJs would be worth the admission alone anyway.

yep I totally agree Jamie - never heard either band but Optimo always do an interesting and slightly mad set...

Well said Dave - where Optimo are concerned NOTHING is about of bounds (except maybe trance and hard house......good!)
