Default Thought of the day #2

Givens,

It just struck me the other night that some people can go through their whole life with a certifiable disorder / condition and never know. If the sky looks pink to someone with colour blindness but they've been told the colour is 'blue' and to them it's normal, how will they ever know unless they take a test?

And even then, who is to say that the person with 'colour blindness' doesn't have the correct vision and everyone else has an altered view.

Test for colour blindness.

There's probably a huge list of things like this, if anyone knows / can think of any more please post up.

I'm up for an Onion Terror sponsored metaphysical debate:

Can anyone tell me why blue is not blue, and why 2+8=34345945945

It says on that site that colour blindness affects a small percentage of females. From what I remember from school, colour blindness is sex-linked, and only males can inherit such things... so how can females be colour blind?

I may go Googling on this tomorrow when I'm not tired but I was just wondering if anyone knew offhand.

They're probably part males.

Of course! Why didn't I think of that?

Anywayz, it's just when both of the kid's X chromosomes have the colour blind version of the gene, which hardly ever happens for girls. Boring. It would be much better if it was because of their testosterone.
