Noticed in the paper today they didn't get permission to build the smoking area over the beer garden. That's a bit of a shame.

I think we'll still get it in some form or other. It's certainly not going to be as architecturally jarring as that...thing growing off of the side of HMT. Nothing's been decided one way or the other yet.

Once we actually get a typed copy of it, then it'll go up. It was only finalised today, and there may be a few more tweaks made to it.

I quite like the thing growing out of HMT.

I've just spent the whole day in TK's, attending to the final details. Opening night was beautiful, lots of appreciation for the new layout in the pub and the club. Exodus is the same, but better, and we got rid of all the sound problems that have dogged us the last few months. The new lights worked a treat as well. Opinions are divided on the new feature at the edge of the dancefloor, but I like it. Lots of people commented on the fact that the yellowness has completely disappeared.

TK's looks completely different, all sorts of eye-catching features and a much more cosy atmosphere, Oh, and the Deuchars IPA in the pub goes down an absolute treat.

Is there any chance of photos or am I just going to have to head down to exodus?

It looks a lot nicer but a lot of people have said "It looks like a gay bar".
It looks nice though.
I had a peek through the window to have a look of TKs but it looks the same but with minor changes.

EDIT: Oh and having removable chairs and glass ashtrays at night is just asking for trouble.

The changes are pretty massive downstairs, you really have to go in to get the full effect.

Why? We've had ashtrays outside ever since the smoking ban came in. I don't see why there should be any trouble with the chairs either. There's always doorstaff there to ensure people don't do anything daft.

We'll have photos on the myspace in the next couple of days, probably. But come down anyway.
