Default Buying a new Acoustic

Lads/Lassies,

Away to purchase a new Acoustic guitar after coming into some money and in the need to cheer myself up. I currently play a Epiphone EJ200 which i really like however i'm really keen to move on and am looking to spend between 600-800(maybe more) quid on a new one. Anyone got any ideas what i should be aiming for?

Do R n B and Bruce Millers have a decent stock?

Any help is great,

Cheers

You could get a real nice Taylor for that money.

Takemine make reeeeally nice acoustics, my favourite and you could get a smashing one for your budget. I believe Bruce Millers stock them, unless they stopped in the past while.

Bear in mind that Taylor's usually have bolt on necks.

For that kind of money you're almost into used Gibson territory.

In fact I've just had a look at Guitar Guitar and you can get a brand new Gibson for that kind of money, just with satin finish on the back and sides.

So I would probably go for a satin Gibson or Martin.

Might be worth looking for something second hand. You could land a slightly tatty Gibson or something a bit interesting.

For example, Gitane make jazz acoustics in your price range which are very fun:

Breedlove 250plus are sweet. They are starting to go up in price though, but you might still get one for around 800. I find Taylors too thin and brittle, or at least I've tried out/owned (410)
