Default Jerry Reed RIP

Very, very sad news, not only one of the greatest finger-pickers ever, he also managed to find time to write great songs like Guitar Man and US Male for Elvis AND steal the show from Burt Reynolds in Smokey and the Bandit.

The Associated Press: Singer-actor Jerry Reed dies at the age of 71

Here's Jerry at his best:

Shame, knew him better as an actor than as a musician.

You should have a listen to the Sensational Alex Harvey Band's brilliant and atmospheric version of "Amos Moses" off the SAHB Stories album. Alabama 3 covered it as well.

I like him in Bat 21 (or whatever it's called...the one with Gene Hackman behind enemy lines).
