You're right theroetically although I too have never seen anyone bother. The problem is the sample would only be applicable at one tempo, and only for 16ths double bass.

Kollias does use triggers, at least sometimes. I have certainly got a couple of videos where he does.

For speed check this kid, 17 years old or so. I know it's two foot, but I've never seen anyone hit 270 with the feet and he has got some pretty speedy feet in other videos.

Yes. It's very good fun.

That's very good. I bet he's never had sexual intercourse, though......

Very impressive, but how come he just uses his fingers? When I blast I use my wrists, it's nails and hard to get even remotely close to that speed. Maybe it's called 'technique' or something

He does have a video explaining his technique. But he speaks in German, and resembles a dead fish.

hey just to put in my tuppence worth, Nile definately use double kick pedals with triggers, pretty much all death bands do cuz it improves the clarity of the pedal and stops the bass guitar from meshing with the bass drum sonically. that frost of satyricon guy is using a double pedal as well except for the straight single beats in time with the snare.
check out this for fast single hand gravity drops.

(the gravity drops are right at the end)

Can't say I was especially blown away on Saturday. He's pretty good for sure, but not amazing. Locally, and this is gonna sound biased as fuck, I don't think there's many better than Radio Lucifer's own Oggy. IMO, he pisses over mostly everyone, may except Frosty and Waz from DLS.
