Default Electronic Brass Soundfonts midi etc

Does anyone know a good way of generating midi music when all you have is a pc keyboard??

Ive got a decent sound card and some brilliant sound fonts from sonivox?

Basically i just want to play a note along with a song, by pressing a key on my pc and it recording what i played? Can it be done easy enough? Any software that lets you do it.

I know it's an inbuilt feature of Fruity Loops that you can turn on and off at ur will.

you could also try these...
Granucon - music software - virtual midi keyboard
MIDIOX
Not had a proper swatch at them but seems to be what ur looking for.
