where you buy your clothes has relevance to my project.

=]

my project is music based but it does not focus enterially on music and gigs.

hence why i ask about pubs and clubs as well.

ive just done a whole dissertation on tattoos and piercings within the alternative music culture. and many people would say "whats body modifications got to do with music??"

but its all linked. image, identity, subculture, use of space, etc

It's cool. I had a long-winded answer mad eup but deleted and went with that haha.

On the point of the clothes - How could I forget the countless amount of tees and hoodies I've bought from gigs. That is my staple wardrobe practically.

1. What gigs have you been to recently? I don't really go to many gigs...I've been to a couple Toy gigs in Aberdeen but that's it.

2. What gigs have you coming up? Radiohead.

3. How do you hear about gigs? Other people and the internet.

4. What do you think of the local music scene? Some of it's good, a lot of it's not good.

5. Where do you socialise/ hang out? Uh. I sometimes go to Kilau.

6. If it is a pub, what did you do before you were old enough? It's not a pub.

7. Do you like Aberdeen? It's okay.

8. Do you think Aberdeen needs another alt. Club, pub or venue? Sure.

9. Do you feel the current ones need improved? Some of them could do with a little improvement.

10. Where do you buy your music from? Online mainly, get a few CD's from One Up.

11. Where do you shop for clothes? Any shops really...the internet too. Not one specific place.

The problem with the Jo Whiley theory of 'We love all Live Music' is that live music is only great if it's music you like. There's nothing exciting whatsoever about seeing a band you don't like playing live.

I only go to gigs to see a band I like or to check out a band I think I might like, not because I have any kind of craving for live music in general.

1. What gigs have you been to recently?
Hmmm, the only recent one i've been to was Flatlands in Dundee.

2. What gigs have you coming up?
Stars Of The Lid.

3. How do you hear about gigs?
This website, various other internet sites.

4. What do you think of the local music scene? (general, don’t go over board!)
It's a very limited and generic scene right now. There's no depth to it whatsoever.

5. Where do you socialise/ hang out?
Usually at mates flats but if i go out it tends to be to places like the Bassment, The Noose and Monkey and a few other bars and pubs.

6. If it is a pub, what did you do before you were old enough?
Usually mates houses.

7. Do you like Aberdeen?
Yes.It gets a hard time but it's nice in general.

8. Do you think Aberdeen needs another alt. Club, pub or venue?
No, i'm glad we've lost a few as it may force the remaining ones to pull the finger out a little.

9. Do you feel the current ones need improved?
Very much so, they all lack something in one or two areas.

10. Where do you buy your music from?
The internet, my place of work and One Up.

11. Where do you shop for clothes?
Granite Reef, Boarderline, Gigs and occasionally Primark.

I know that. I only go and see bands that I want to see. But seeing your favourite band live and them blowing you away with their performance is awesome or little bands that you enjoy and you see them becoming developing is also fantastic.

I did also say that if there wasn't anything that she wanted to go to then don't. I wouldn't go just because.

I know what you mean, the gig's that really hit you make all the fruitless experiences worthwhile.

I don't doubt that there's a correlation can be made between where people shop for clothes and what kind of music they listen to. But then why not ask them what kind of books they read or what kind of food they like? Limiting a study of music culture to just clothing is a mistake made too often.

I'm not having a go, just trying to explain my comment about relevance.
