Hole In One

Always the weak minded folk who all extreme metal bands are all full of long haired / smelly / unintelligible obese men.

Just take a wee minute out of your busy schedule to feast your eyes over the likes of Opeth , Acid Bath , Crowbar.

Alot more melody and emotion than your weekly nme flavour of the weak.

oppinions arseholes yaddy yaddy yadda ..........

"Weak minded"?!!? Somebody is "weak minded" just because they have misconceptions about extreme metal?

I dont care for extreme metal nor NME's flavour of the week.

Well we got one page of sensible answers.

But the answers so far have confirmed my thoughts, we all like different shit, which is the way it should be. Its just kinda hard when new bands come out and people have a go cause they just dont like em, its a good laugh when readin some of the stuff that gets put up onto this site by people that really shouldnt be commenting on the stuff they do.

DOES ANYONE UNDERSTAND WHERE I AM GOING WITH THIS. ESPECIALLY SPIKEY!!!

Spikey?

Are you trying to say that if you dont like a particular style of music, why bother listening to/commenting on it?

Lynched.

Sorry but this is what i was trying talk about earlier on.

I could go on for days about how much i hate Emo or RnB, but i wont ill just focus on the positive rather than the negative.

I was only really interested in what people like not give a paragraph onto the shit that you dont.

Also connie obviously knew the "controversy" that comment would cause!!

Sorry if that sounds a bit bitchy!! Im sure you are a really nice person.

And MKII

Thats not what i am saying, the whole aberdeen music scene shite he came away with really annoyed me, but well thats cause i think for the size of this city our scene is fuckin awsome. Again one persons opinion. Fair enough there are shite bands in my opinion.
its the whole, one persons shit is another persons gold and far too many people tend to slagg of bands etc, rather than have any constructive criticsm.

Blah blah blah... who gives a shit? I'm sick of these attempts to be 'fair' and 'criticise constructively'. This website just goes round and round, the same scenarios being re-enacted with less conviction each time. You asked why people like the music they do and wind up with a poorly written moral mix-match of other shit you've read composed by equally 'objective' people.

Get an opinion. Don't feel forced to be a 'cool guy' and post objectively, fairly etc because everyone remembers SoM's debut on here.

We encourage people to be constructive and make reasoned, balanced arguments to support their position on this website. A debate between informed individuals is always welcome provided that they don't resort to mudslinging and flaming.

This thread is here for people to set out their particular point of view on music. If members wish to comment on their posts they can do so (and normally do) in a manner that encourages friendly discussion, not World War III.
