One of the greatest soul albums ever. In fact it's probably one of the first albums by a soul/R+B artist that actually stands on its own merits, rather than just being a collection of studio knock-offs released to boost artist sales.

Anyone who can do justice to three very different Sam Cooke songs and produce an original of the quality of "Respect" in the same session has my utmost, um, respect.

what make it better is that i snapped it up for £3.49 in 2nd hand section of one - up. why in the hell would anyone want to sell it.

Had it on vinyl for years, and still love it. It's one of my 'educational' albums, i.e.
