Anyone else go this yet?

There's a few omissions I'd have liked to have seen (say it aint so for example) on it but it's still an excellent package. The booklet with the liner notes for each song in the special edition is superb and the DVD is amazing. Fantastic release if you're a fan.

Yup. Have been listning to the album for a couple of weeks, but I'm definatly going to buy it, for the ace package and dvd into the bargain. Not just a cheap stopgap, but a worthy release in it's own right.

I saw that and thought it was the most unnecessary thing in the world, and I haven't even heard them. Then I saw they cover a Cocteau Twins song, and was intrigued. Is that any good?

It's not unecessary at all. I've never been one of those fans that buys everything just to be a completist (I didn't buy Back to school as it was nothing but a cynical cash in by the record company, against the band's wishes) but this is a great release. Although probably only if you're already a fan. The band say this is a thank you to the fans, and it feels like it.

They could've just released a b-sides comp straight off the singles with no effort and it would sell, but they've actually spent time and put together something actually worth buying. I'd have spent the tenner for the DVD alone quite happily (all their videos, with a couple of live tracks plus some short interview segments and behind the scenes footage), or the CD for the matter.

And the cocteau twins song is great, although I don't know the original.

Is that "Sinatra"? If so that is indeed a righteous cover. Haven't got the album but I recall their covers of "The Chauffer" and "Savory" are rather tasty too. Must get a hold of them.

I believe I shall purchase this when back in town this afternoon. I wasn't going to bother but a few people have highly recommended it to me now and I'm a huge fan so looks like it's a winner!
