It would appear we have lost another band from this, so we still have 2 or 3 places, if you think your band can learn at least 2 80's songs for a 15 minute set then please give me a shout, we have theEE/P&J doing a piece on it so a good chance to get your name iin print.I would reallty like thos gig to take place but bands are dropping off and with low ticket sales its not looking likely, this is a chance for us as a music community to pull together and do something meaningfull.

cheers

Stuart

Well, I'll be there that is for sure with tickets at the door being sold (as wanted to go from the get go), and if I can help, just give me a pm and I'll see what I can do.

Take care and good luck,

Its cool that quite a few folks have said they are planning on going...any word on how things are looking for the gig? I'm hoping it goes ahead because it should be fun one, and for a very good cause

Perhaps the drop in support is because it's now 3 1/2 months since the disaster, and peoples attention has moved on? Not having a go - I think it's great that you're all getting of your arses and doing something, but maybe some speedier organisation would have helped.

yip can see your point, think the organisers are doing a good job tho because its quite an ambitious gig to pull off. I could be wrong on this but I think the emphasis is more on the Band Aid charity now because I'm not totally sure if Tsumani appeal is still accepting donations.

<warning take everything I say with a pinch of salt, I know nothing..well very little, and the rest I make up as I go along >

If that is the case and Tsunami aid is no longer accepting donations then that doesn't mean people shouldn't still support this gig. The famine in Ethiopia has been going on for over 20 years now and if anything is getting worse - a gig like this should have taken place ages ago, and not just once either.

Persevere guys, it would be a real shame to see this fall through. I'm sure that once confirmed as going ahead if everyone pulls together we could easily generate the interest for tickets that an event like this so deserves.

Yip totally agree with you there! Right on!

And Stuart-I'm happy to help out with posters/flyers for the gig as well.

Well the original plan was to have the gig a lot quicker and use a named band, but because we couldnt get a a named band as eveyone was doing some kind of tsunami thing, the format was changed and we went with a chance to showcase local bands and give them a chance to play one of aberdeen's finest venues.and for a good cause, it would be great if the bands that are going, could send me theirsets (only 3 have done so so far) and could start speaking to their fans via these boards, mailing lists whatever, to make this a success, we have newspaper coverage next week and hope that sales will come in then.

Cheers

Stuart

If you want me to make up some posters to save Ross having to pay the printers, then I prolly could do that...

If I could get use of a photocopier it might help though...
