Default The Locust Boycott Clear Channel Venues

The Locust put its foot down on media/entertainment industry consolidation, refusing to play in Clear Channel-owned venues on the upcoming Ipecac Records Geek tour.

The post-hardcore act has announced it'll sit out the dates of the tour in Detroit, New Orleans, Philadelphia, Minneapolis and San Francisco to protest Clear Channel control of venues and media. The other bands on the tour -- Fantomas and Trevor Dunn's Trio Convulsant -- will play as scheduled. The band is touring on the label package to promote its upcoming Safety Second, Body Last EP, due out March 22 on the Mike Patton-owned imprint.

The Geek Tour's scheduled to stop at:

March 31 - Old Brickhouse Grille, Phoenix, Az.
April 3 - Tree's, Dallas
April 4 - Emo's, Austin
April 5 - House of Blues, New Orleans
April 8 - Cat's Cradle, Carrboro, N.C.
April 9 - Theater of the Living Arts, Philadelphia*
April 10 - 9:30 Club, Washington, D.C.
April 11 - TBA, New York
April 13 - The Roxy, Boston
April 14 - Le Spectrum, Montreal
April 15 - Phoenix Theatre, Toronto
April 16 - Agora Ballroom, Cleveland
April 17 - St. Andrews Hall, Detroit*
April 19 - Metro, Chicago
April 20 - Fine Line Music Cafe*, Minneapolis
April 22 - Cervantes' Masterpiece Ballroom, Denver
April 24 - The Big Easy, Boise, Idaho
April 25 - TBA, Portland
April 26 - TBA, Seattle
April 29 - The Fillmore, San Francisco*

* - date boycotted by The Locust
