selling music is a way of surviving for most bands. how could you (literally) deprive a band of that? independent bands have to fund themselves for recording, touring etc and seling music goes along way to funding that. it would be great with people having to discover music without big record companies but surely the media would still work to effect in shoving bands down people's throats.

I think he's meaning the crap like pop idol. Someone who is good at singing gets puts on tv and makes millions because they look good. Just wrong.
