Finally Thin Lizzy get a decent greatest hits set with 2 CD's. Ok the original single CD's were alright but they had even more good tracks that were missing. I recommend anyone wanting to get into Thin Lizzy or just the casual listener to pick it up

Your damn right Live & Dangerous is fantastic. It's an album that a lot can manage to like without being a big fan of the band, definately a classic.

As for earlier albums it depends on how early you wanna go. 70-73 was when they were a 3-piece with 1 guitarist (Eric Bell) and played folk rock type stuff, I found it weird and hard to get into in general. Still this was the line up that churned out Whisky In The Jar and Eric Bell is a brilliant guitarist. The early years of the Brian Robertson/Scott Gorham line-up (2 guitarists) I'd say was 74-75 when they released Night Life & Fighting (before their big break with Jailbreak in 76). Night Life is a little weak sounding and more light mellow rock, whereas Fighting is just badass rock with bluesy guitar solos, nice guitar harmonies, good lyrics & tight drumming. It's my favourite Lizzy album
