Last night's viewing:

The Devil And Daniel Johnston - Wow. As a documentary it's a brilliant film, and an unbelievable story. Sad in places, funny in others, and just unbeleivable in others. It really shows you the effect a mental illness can have on a person and also those around them, and at the same time it's almost like a Forrest Gump story of a guy who's had this incredible life, blagged his way on to MTV, and worked with the likes of Sonic Youth. Truly a 5-star movie, see it, see it, see it.
Thumbs UP

The Incredible Hulk - The newest one with Ed Norton. Thought it was pretty good, Norton was really good, lots of action and the special effects looked good, but it didn't really have anything in it that we haven't seen before. Baddies smashing up Manhattan? Not only has that been done before but it's been done in Marvel films before, ie Spiderman, Fantastic Four 1 and 2. It was good but not brilliant, just kind of lacking in originality. A lot better than Ang Lee's effort.
Thumbs UP

You're right. Nicholas Cage is terrible. I think he and Travolta are quite good in Face/Off, but other than that, he is garbage. Con Air is a great film, but he's shite. S'all about Malkovich. That guy is unfuckwithable!

Year One. Oh Dear! It may even pip Alien Vs Predator as being the worst film i've ever seen. At least that was funny.

4 Months, 3 weeks and 2 days: didn't even read the synopsis for this one (wish I had so it didn't rock my face off!) but watched it because of the critical acclaim it's generated. Pretty brutal - subtly and graphically in parts - and realistic drama that hits home pretty hard. The acting's extraordinary and there's a lot of long single-take shots that heighten the drama drama - similar to Michael Haneke films. More than anything, the film's about the extremes of friendship. A must-see if you like your world cinema, but for others it'd be very much love/hate. 7/10

Agreed. Was so disappointing.

Though Michael Cera does have funny bits. i'd give it 2/10 (just for that humour)

Is it that bad?
I like Michael Cera and Jack Black. I thought it could be quite good.

Momento - been a while since I watched this and was not sorry about re-watching it. Keeps you on your toes, specially since it's backwards and with the guessing "Who dunit", great twists and ending

Hangover - has to be said I never thought I would enjoy one as much Laughed all the way through, the guy Alan was hilarious - I want a friend like him ha ha

Transformers 2 - OMG dragged and kinda bored me. Think had I been 15 years younger and male and I would have thought it was spot on. Lot's of bits which just seemed unnecessary to a fuck-off long film THEN there was trailer clips.....huh! The fact I had sore knees & freezing (always cold in that cinema) didn't help

Yeah i thought that too. It has a good cast etc, it just kinda seems to try to hard to be funny.

Kinda got to the point where we were just wanting to leave. Theres some outtakes at the end - I wasnt hanging around to watch them.
