Default Ricky Gervais - Extras
Just watched the Extras Christmas Special and I was absolutely stunned at the monologue given by Ricky Gervais' character Andy Millman in the Celebrity Big Brother scene.

He encapsulated the cult of celebrity and obsession with fame so perfectly, that I was on the verge of tears.

I'm can only assume it came straight from the heart - the delivery was so honest.

It summed up just exactly how I feel about the whole obscene media/celebrity circus.

Absolutely jaw-dropping!!!

I watched it on Youtube this morning, should still be there.

It was the American release, but still 99% the same as UK.

It was pretty depressing overall. My favourite part was when after that monologue and Andy apologising to Maggie, seeing Darren think it was meant for him. And Gaffney working in the Carphone Warehouse was genius.

it was repeated tonight, absolutely brilliant even if i did spend the whole time going "awww" for ashley jensen's character. great cast and loved when darren lambs mum phoned his mobile and the three of them were dancing behind the counter. extras is better than the office, fact.
