Default TV causes autism

http://www.johnson.cornell.edu/facul.../autpaper.html

researchers "...found that in all the Western states, the more time toddlers spent in front of the television, the more likely they were to exhibit symptoms of autism disorders. The Cornell study represents a potential bombshell in the autism debate."

Haven't looked at it properly (just read the abstract in fact!) but it looks a fairly weird article. For a start it's written by an economist and a management consultant, who don't strike me as being the best qualified to do this sort of research (I reckon I'm probably better qualified!). The abstract mostly seems to relate TV viewing habits to rainy weather, so it's really arguing that autism tends to arise a bit more frequently if it rains a lot, because kids are (presumably) inside watching the telly more. I dunno.

?

I heard Prison Break is a particularly serious cause of autism.
