Element 106 draw from many influences and remain inspired by everything from Cradle of Filth to Deftones and allsorts in between. The best is to come though : ) 2006 is the year for us to move up a gear, the heavyness gets heavier and the melody gets more melodic : )

Bitumen River are a high energy ear blistering 4 piece from the Shetland Islands, Scotland who incorporate punk, rock, metal and grunge sounds to form their own original style. Over the years the band have played many gigs throughout Shetland and mainland Scotland including appearances at the Shetland Rocks Festival, one of which also featured legendary band The Undertones. Their live shows have been described by Retro magazine as ‘an intense barrage of gut wrenching tunes and visually overwhelming’. They have supported bands such as Viking Skull, Electric Eel Shock, Jetplane Landing and 209. In 2005 they finished their third four track E.P, with BleatBeat Records, and are currently in recording sessions for their new album. Bitumen River also have had the privilege of airplay on Radio Scotland’s Air, BBC Shetland and 7LTN-FM, a popular Australian based radio station.
Influences:
Nirvana, Machine Head, Alice in Chains, Clutch, Bad Religion, Pearl Jam, Pennywise

Beast Head

Beast Head blasted off to an powerfully explosive start in autumn 2005. The band have been gigging almost non-stop throughout Shetland for the past 6 months and have recently been joined by Jamie Hatch on lead guitar. Soon to release their first E.P and now venturing to the Scottish mainland for gigs, this is a very exciting time in the world of Beast Head!
Influences:
Metallica, Megadeth, Machine Head, Alice in Chains, Anthrax, Tool, Iron Maiden

Doors at 8pm. £3 entry
