Default Dead Anyway Presents: Amy Sawers, Emergency Red & Stroszek

Dead Anyway Presents:

Amy Sawers (www.amysawers.com)

Well-crafted, beautiful, melodic songs. Amy Sawers, originally from Echt (Aberdeenshire), has been described as a combination of Joni Mitchell and Tom York of Radiohead. Amy's latest collections of songs show a harder edge to her music, but still with the same powerful floating vocals. Her songs are sometimes haunting and always inspiring. Now a 2 piece, Amy and Hendy continue to draw in their audiences.

Emergency Red (http://www.emergencyred.com/)

Emergency Red are a three piece band from Edinburgh formed in 2001. Winners of Best Unsigned artist June 2004 on XFm Radio London and currently featured on Radio One's One Music Website. In the last year, Emergency Red have had a live gig in Princes Street gardens (Edinburgh city centre) recorded and broadcast on cable TV and have played other venues like The Liquid Room in Edinburgh, King Tut's in Glasgow, and The Borderline in London.

The band have just finished recording their first album and will be releasing it shortly.

Stroszek (http://www.stroszek.co.uk/)

Formed in early 2005, Stroszek are a three-piece band from the lonely, cold North-East City of Aberdeen. The band play a minimalist and diverse brand of alternative music mixing drum machine beats, melodic and atmospheric guitars, swirling synth lines articulate lyrics and driving bass. In April, the band recorded a demo of their very earliest material and the demo version of ‘No More Exclusives’ recently won the demo vote on Vic Galloway’s Air programme on BBC Radio Scotland.

Live at The Moorings Bar, Saturday 3rd December. Entry £3. Doors at 8pm

Ace!

And you make it so easy for us setup wise. 3 acts and none of them containing more than 3 people. And no banjos. Bonus.

To be fair banjos don't cause us as many problems as they used to. They are the hardest instrument to contend with as they are bascially a microphone with strings strung accross it, and can be very suseptible to feedback.
