what if your under 18..and 17(just as u said u have a policy on those too) - lets say 15 or 16...there was 2-4 of you and you wanted to go there too see a band, would you let them in - esp. if one or more new people in the band playing - would you let them in??
cause really, contacting u or whatever is such a hassle for what it is worth...

As far as I can see, the situation is pretty much what Flash here is trying to avoid (while I'll let him confirm seeing as he's not me!)

I think you have the wrong attitude, the Moorings have no obligation to let you, or I, in to see a band and saying it's too much hassle probably won't bother them. I am grateful for the opportunity to P.M. if necessary and will make sure I carry appropriate I.D. if I get the privilege to attend. If you really want to see the band I wouldn't think you'd consider hassle and would have no qualms with respecting a rule that's essentially there for a reason.

Well if it's not worth the hassle then its not worth going. From what I see Flash is being more than genrous with the concessions he's making. not really wise to look a gift horse in the mouth. In fact i'd say it was bare faced cheek.

Thankyou, you two, for replying along the lines of what I was going to write. I decided to go for a one word reply, as anything more would've just been too much hassle

Underagers today obviously don't know how lucky they are. When we started going to gigs only the Music Hall and the Lemon Tree would let you in if you were under 18. We had to fight tooth and nail to get more all ages gigs. Concerted campaigns like Dave writing one article in Blind Youth highlighting the issue, and assorted muttering under the breath when bouncers asked for proof of age, brought the establishment to it's knees. And now almost everywhere is doing all ages gigs. And the kids try and ruin them. Ungrateful little scroats.

i take it as a privalidge and have been basically told to fuck off before from certain gig venue's, which is fair enough really! lol. i think flash is being more than generous in offering to let underagers in as long as they prove thay are over 14, basically promice to behave , follow the set rules and pm him. most people wouldnt bother, so for that i give him a lot of credit!!

Which issue was that in again? I'll have to dig it out.

I've been the "responsible" adult looking after groups of underagers in venues a few times, and it's a bloody nightmare. The Lemon Tree, for example, made it clear that if anyone tried to procure alcohol in my group, they would all be escorted from the premises, and myself along with them. Now, try to keep an eye on half a dozen individuals in a crowd of 300, while watching bands and trying to have a good time yourself. Most of the time the kids behaved themselves, but there's always one who thinks they can chance it and try to get alcohol from someone.

Best of luck with the new rules, Flash.

I'm turning of my Mac now. So if any other underagers wished to attend this week then they are too late.

We'll keep the list of underagers going, adding people to it on application, then subtracting people that don't behave. If anyone would like to be added to the list then they must PM me with their full name.
