Bill Hicks makes me sick to my stomach. What a horrible bastard he is, he's just so fucking conceited and - at a stretch - supercilious. Maybe I'm not as bright at all you folk that like him, maybe I just dont get it, but I really despise him and he makes me feel sad; not happy like a comedian should. This upsets me as he was a huge influence on Tool - who are one of my very favourite bands - and I feel like a bit of a "cop-out" for this reason. I agree with him on many points (religion as an example) but I think he sholud have had slightly more respect for other people. Que arty-farty folk: "but he's expressing himself, he speaks the truth man!" Fair enough but shh.

anyway.

Bill Bailey makes me laugh out loud, the Mighty Boosh, Billy Connelly (Connely/Conelly), Lee Evans, Reeves and Mortimer yadayadayada.

Saw Andrew "King of Comedy" Maxwell at The Lemon Tree and thought he was pretty funny as well.

You should have more respect for the dead!

I've a list of folk to check out now, hopefully comedy overload is round the corner. Seen bits of Bill Bailey and think I'll dig that. What's his best stuff?

Bill Bailey, all three of is DVD's are purified genius, but I prefer Part Troll, the newest one.

Frankie Boyle is probably the funniest on TV just now.

when that Secret Policeman's Ball was on ages ago on channel four, there was an amazing comedian, an American woman called Sarah Silverman or Brightman, can't remember, was on. The most un-PC comedian I've ever seen; really appealed to my sense of humour, but may offend just about everyone.

Default Silverman

Sarah Silverman is very funny but really close to the bone.
Check out the documentry " the Aristocrats" She is on there along with a whole host of other great comedians like Emo Philips, Steve Wright and George Carlin.
It is an awesome movie.

I've seen the documentary 'the Aristocrats' It's a great watch, really made my laugh. Robin Williams was surprisingly funny on it actually.

Why do people see Ricky Gervais as a comedian?
The 'Straight guy in a suit' act wears a bit thin over time. Every time I see his smug looking face I just want to take a baseball bat to it.

Oh and Catherine Tate would get the second swing.

Me too, I literally pissed myself (but only a little bit!) laughing when he did the music hall a few years back. And his DVDs are always tremendously good value for money, given the extras and multiple shows that are on each disc.
