Thursday 5th Feb - £3 or get a free pass from 5ive upstairs from Snafu as you head down! 10pm doors SORREN MACLEAN BAND Sorren Maclean on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads Sorren is a majorly talented boy. His music has great pop hooks and massive potential. He has recently played shows with De Rosa, Mumford and Sons, Colin Macintyre (for whom he also played all the guitar parts on his new album), Belladrum Festival, Celtic Connections and many more. Despite being a majorly talented musician he is a distinctly nice chap who has a clutch of radio friendly songs ready for you - oh and his band features awesome harmonies and some slick double bass playing. Even more reason to pay attention. "a nice line in catchy, exuberant acoustic pop" - THE SCOTSMAN 'Fortunately, we were awoken from our slumbers by the folk pop summery vibes of the Sorren Maclean Band. Immediately engaging the crowd with his likeable manner, Sorren, helped out by his father on an enormous double bass, proceeded to deliver an assured set of sun-soaked Celtic melodies that would go down a treat on a hot summer's day. The crowd responded to his enthusiasm by (shock, horror!) indulging in some actual dancing! And with that the night was well and truly up and running." - T Break Review Plus.... ASHLEY PARK Ashley Park on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads Taking time out from Kartta's hectic schedule supporting The Boss across South America, Mr Park has kindly agreed to do a solo set at the DHC. He cites influences such as Bob Dylan , Mark Eitzel, Jeremy Enigk, Jonah Matranga, Elliott Smith, Neil Young and makes a lovely noise which i am looking forward to hearing for the first time. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | This was actually a brilliant gig. Ashley Park played a killer set featuring a few new numbers. Talented little so and so. I bloody loved Sorren Maclean. It's a shame only a handful of people gave them the time of day. That, in terms of live music, is one of the best DHCs I have ever attended. |
