Waxdolls - Snafu 26th September
Belisha Presents - The Waxdolls
Led by Lieven Dermul and Wim Slabbinck, the Waxdolls are an electro punk outfit from Ghent, Belgium. Their mix of punk, dirty techno and just a hint of Euro trash put them straight into the sex, drugs and rock and roll category, but with a difference. Ragged edged guitars riffs, sleazy lyrics in amongst a tangle of wires and beats, the Waxdolls take their inspiration from the margins; the ethos of punk mashed up with 21st century electronica, a mix that puts them firmly into the new punk avant-garde.
