Default March 13th @ DHC SNAFU - DOWNFALL OF PARIS plus support

hey guys

13th - DOWNFALL OF PARIS

The Newcastle Noir-pop 3 piece are on their first country wide tour having honed their skills supporting Reverend And The Makers as well the Arctic Monkeys. With a Demo under their wings from legendary Sheffield producer Alan Smyth (Pulp, Richard Hawley, Arctics, Reverend) they look ready to take flight. With their bass-driven, multi layered, synth-pop sound drawing comparison with acts as diverse as The Smiths, System of a Down and ABC! 2008 sees these 3 boys and their laptop tour up and down the UK. They’re going to make you Dance and Cry at the same time – apparently!

Also appearing at this gig:

Stroszek

"Vibrant, threatening and song-writing-wise as good as any of their mentors"
Is This Music? magazine

Stroszek are an uncompromising and unique modern alternative band who place as much emphasis on the lyrics as they do the music. The honest and forthright lyrical style combines with the atmospheric music to create a menacing and often beautiful cacophony of sound. Unafraid to tackle the big issues or write songs that have meaning to the listener, there is no chance that people will be suffocated by the 'Girl Meets Boy' themes that are over-used by many other acts.

No two Stroszek songs are ever the same. The songs can be tuneful, abstract, danceable or atmospheric. The moods can be melancholic one moment, and celebratory the next. One thing is certain - there will be a musical surprise or lyrical hook around the corner as, over time, it becomes harder to pin the band down to a specific genre.
