You book someone like Jonah Matranga, a legend in some circles. It's 2 weeks to the show and you've got no venue, no promotion done and no tickets onsale - and you have the cheek to make a myspace page about me and RFR - whilst all you do is sit about all day on the fucking internet picking your arse and wanking off to granny porn. Good een. |

Ross has had a venue booked for weeks, only for it to fall through with little notice. I know he had tickets in hand for the original venue and through no fault of his own did the arrangement fall through - so can you really blame him? He's now got a venue sorted (and arguably a better venue than the original choice, though it's a matter of debate) and is going to have tickets on sale as soon as possible. It's not an ideal situation, but given Jonah's reputation and the quality of the supports, it should be a decent gig regardless. Sure, it could be better, but who will really know until the gig happens? As for not getting any promotion done, RFR is hardly the blinding experts at getting promotion done - in fact, how long did it take to update certain myspaces? I seem to remeber the Gigs in Aberdeen myspace being empty at one point, with references on the Moshulu one to club nights that had ceased. I've also seen plenty of gigs where there's been barely any posters up for whatever reason, with a £5 ticket price for some shit band and two supports who are only playing because they sell tickets as RFR can't be arsed to promote the gig. Sure, RFR have managed to pull out some big things, but haven't you also had some utter disasters in the past? I won't mention names, but you can hardly say that you've got a stellar record, can you? For Ross to manage to pull out Jonah for a fiver plus four supports was a good bit of business, something that perhaps RFR aren't the best at given their slide into administration. For that, it might be wise to not throw stones when stood in a glass house in future. Good luck with the Jonah gig to everyone involved with No Promotions. |
