Default Fredag Live presents Allison Crowe

Following an outstanding performance at Glasgows Ramshorn
Theatre Canadian singer songwriter Allison Crowe continues her debut
Scottish tour with a performance at Aberdeen's Cowdray Hall.

November 3 - Aberdeen, Cowdray Hall
with special guest, singer-songwriter Billie Woods
8pm; Tickets: £8/£6conc

Allison Crowe, singularly exciting rock vocalist/pianist, releases her
newest album, This Little Bird, this month - and visits Scotland for a
trio of concert dates as part of Glasgow's Big, Big World and the giant,
UK-wide, Oxjam Festival.

In this age of "tepid troubadors", it's so refreshing to discover a
vocalist and pianist who rocks with the vigor of a prime Little Richard,
Jerry Lee Lewis, Fats Domino or Bruce Springsteen. It's even more
remarkable when the musician, advancing on a trail marked by spirits as
diverse as Nina Simone, Mahalia Jackson, The Beatles and Eddie Vedder,
holds to the creative integrity of Ani DiFranco and Joni Mitchell.

As different as is wild salmon from farm salmon, it's rare to find a
great young talent today who not only is swimming upstream, but, also,
one who is succeeding on all levels.

Singularly exciting, Allison Crowe releases her newest album, This
Little Bird, this month. Music blog Muruch says: "I can honestly and
without hesitation say that it is my favourite album of 2006" ~ noting,
"I received an advance copy of Allison Crowe's This Little Bird, and it
is the best thing I've heard in a very long time. I'll post a review
once I get the final product, but I haven't wanted to listen to and
immerse myself in an album so intensely since I first heard Antony & The
Johnsons... if the music blogiverse has any taste at all, Allison Crowe
will be the new artist to be pimped out everywhere."

Immediately following this album's release, Allison Crowe flies from
Canada to the UK to launch a series of concert dates - with a trio of
performances scheduled for Scotland. Teaming up with Edinburgh-based
Fredag Music Group, Allison Crowe will entertain audiences in Glasgow,
Aberdeen and Dundee.

These international showcases featuring Allison Crowe are presented by

Soundsfine, placing her in the line-up for this year's Big Big World Festival.
