It did pull a good crowd which was nice to see, Id kinda half expected it to be quiet cos Id not seen a lot of publicity. V good nite.

aye it started off pretty quiet, which seemed to worry the DJ quite a bit.

Maybe I was born ten years too late but I generally find live reggae mildly disappointing. Thankfully Horace Andy and the Blood & Fire soundsystem have managed to reverse that. Andy performed in army fatigues over dubs spun by a resourceful selector from B&F. His voice was as disctinctive and strong as ever. He performed a selection of haunting roots singles as well as some Massive Attack era material. Sleepy was anything but his nickname, and performed with a level of energy and devillment that belie his 55 years. Haste ye back Mr Skylarker.

gotta say that the tunes spun were absolutely top class all nite, nice to hear reggae played so loud (how it should be heard imo), it made we wonder if the PA was gonna blow up - plus wee Horace was remarkable as expected!
